Our pets are family, not property

Help us change the law

Most Americans consider their pets to be members of their family — and even best friends.

So why do our laws still classify animals as replaceable property?

PetCon works closely with The Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF), which is leading the fight to change how animals are seen as replaceable property under the law.

But we need your help.

The costs required to continue this work add up. That’s why we have partnered with Eterneva, an ashes to diamonds company, to raise funds and awareness for The Animal Legal Defense Fund.

Your donation of $20 dollars will enter you to win a diamond created from your pet’s hair or ashes. Each $20 donation equals one entry, so the more you donate, the higher your odds of winning! The winner will be announced at PetCon LA on June 22, and you must be an attendee of PetCon to win.

You can purchase PetCon tickets here. PetCon ticket proceeds also support The Animal Legal Defense Fund.

If you can’t attend PetCon, please still consider donating between now and June 22, 2019.

Our goal is to raise as much as possible to fund the legal proceedings necessary to protect vital members of our family who aren’t seen as such in the eyes of the law: our beloved pets.
